How did this all begin ?
We have been grilling for years and still love the smell and taste of that smoke you get from wood or charcoal. But when it came to spices and rubs something was missing. Who doesn’t love a good rub or marinade to apply to their poultry, pork, seafood, or beef for some great flavor? Unfortunately, it all starts to taste a little too much of the same. Well, after some serious pondering and experimenting, we figured it out! We were going to combine some Indian spices with BBQ rub. Through our relentless plight for a truly unique and powerful spice blend we caught on to something. After almost a year of blending several spice versions, burning a lot of coal/wood, and doing a tremendous amount of eating it had finally arrived. We had created our first product (“Masala Magic”) which we felt was the ideal Indian BBQ rub & marinade. It was everything we enjoyed about exotic Indian flavors combined with a savory and sweet BBQ rub. Hence, the birth of Charwood Spice.
Our drive behind Charwood Spice is that you don’t just eat to survive, you have to love what you’re eating. The aroma, taste, and the look of the food all matter. The various flavors in other parts of the world are amazing in themselves but could they be even better if fused with other incredible flavor profiles? Charwood Spice is here to answer that exact question. We have set out to explore some of these ethnic flavors and partner them with classic flavors that many of us grew up with. The passion behind our drive is what pushes us to come up with new and innovative spice blends. Whether its chicken, pork, beef, or seafood, we are going to find a way to make it taste more unique and better than ever.
